Responsibilities:
- Fill medications as directed by the Veterinarian for current appointments - Prepare and package medication refills - Run in house laboratory orders - Prepare laboratory samples to be sent out to the lab - Send links to clients for medications to be ordered - Review new medications and side effects with clients - Maintain working relationships with outside vendor representatives, schedule learning opportunities as needed - Organize and prepare Domestic and International Health Certificates - Maintain in house lab equipment - Maintain accurate patient records and prescription information - Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries about medications - Manage inventory and order supplies as needed - Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent - Basic knowledge of medications - Veterinary field experience - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively - Proficient computer skills for data entry and prescription processing and updating medical records as needed - Excellent communication and customer service skills Skills:
- Patient service:
Provide friendly and efficient service to clients and patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Medication administration:
Assist in the preparation, packaging, and dispensing of medications according to prescriptions.
- Hospital, pharmacy, acute care:
Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and the ability to work in an acute care setting.
- Medical terminology:
Understanding of medical terms used in prescriptions, patient records, and healthcare settings.
